On Android, copy the post link in the X app (Share → Copy link), paste it into the box above in Chrome, tap Download and pick a quality such as MP4 720p; the file goes to the Download folder. On Windows, Mac or Linux, copy the post's address from x.com, paste it here, click Download and choose a quality; the MP4 goes to your Downloads folder.
Save an X video on Android or a computer
- Copy the link. In the X app, tap the Share icon under the post and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the post's address from the browser bar on x.com.
- Paste it here. Paste the link into the box at the top of this page and tap Download.
- Pick a quality. Tap or click an MP4 button – the first one is the largest copy X keeps – or MP3 audio for the sound only.
- Open the file. Open the browser's download list (Chrome: menu → Downloads, or Ctrl+J on a computer) and tap the file.
Android: Chrome, Samsung Internet and in-app browsers
In Chrome and most Android browsers, Samsung Internet included, tapping an MP4 button starts a normal download. Unless you changed the setting, the file usually goes to the Download folder in internal storage (in Samsung's My Files app: Download); Google Photos and most gallery apps show it in a Download album.
If you opened the link inside the X app or another app, you may be in its built-in browser, which may hand the file to another app or not save it at all. When BirdGrab recognises such a browser, it starts the download and also shows a “Download not starting?” panel with a Copy link button: if no file arrives, paste the link into Chrome and the page opens with your post.
Windows, Mac and Linux
Every current browser works: Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. The file goes to your Downloads folder; press Ctrl+J in Chrome and Edge (Cmd+Shift+J in Chrome on a Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+Y in Firefox to see the download list.
Right-clicking the video on x.com only offers to copy its address, not to save the file – X plays videos in small pieces. BirdGrab gives you the whole MP4 instead.
Videos, GIFs and sound
Each video of a post gets its own buttons, one per size X keeps, and every MP4 has its sound. GIFs have one button, GIF as MP4, because X stores every GIF as a short silent MP4.
MP3 audio takes the best sound X keeps for the video (128 kbps) and converts it while you download, so the file starts after a second or two.
