Where Do Downloaded X Videos Go?
Find the file you just saved – on any phone or computer
Files you download with BirdGrab go wherever your browser keeps downloads: the Files app → Downloads on iPhone and iPad, the Download folder on Android, and the Downloads folder on Windows, Mac and Linux. They are named after the account and the post number, for example NASA-1914234202700054566-1-720p.mp4, so searching for the account name finds them.
Find a download in ten seconds
- Open the browser's download list. Chrome and Edge: Ctrl+J (Cmd+Shift+J in Chrome on a Mac). Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+Y. Safari on Mac: Option+Command+L. On phones, most browsers have a Downloads entry in their menu; on iPhone, also look in the Files app.
- Or search by name. Search your phone or computer for the account name of the post – every file starts with it.
- Move it where you want it. On iPhone use Share → Save Video or Save Image; on Android the gallery already shows the Download folder.
How the files are named
Every file starts with the account name and the post number, then the number of the video or photo inside the post: NASA-1914234202700054566-1-720p.mp4 is the first video in 720p, …-2.jpg the second photo, …-1.mp3 the sound of the first video and …-1-thumb.jpg its preview picture.
If you download the same file twice, most browsers add (1) or a similar suffix instead of overwriting the first copy.
iPhone and iPad: it's in Files, not Photos
Safari saves downloads to the Files app – by default iCloud Drive → Downloads, or On My iPhone → Downloads if you changed Safari's download setting. Chrome and Firefox for iPhone usually use their own folders in Files, for example On My iPhone → Chrome.
Nothing lands in Photos by itself. Open the file in Files and tap Share → Save Video or Save Image to add it to your camera roll.

Changing the download folder
On a computer you can pick another folder in the browser settings: in Chrome and Edge under Settings → Downloads, in Firefox under Settings → General → Files and Applications, and in Safari under Settings → General → File download location. You can also turn on “ask where to save each file”.
On iPhone, Safari's location is set in Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads. Android browsers generally save to the shared Download folder.

Download location questions
I saved an X video on my iPhone but it's not in Photos. Where is it?
In the Files app under Downloads. Open it there and tap Share → Save Video to copy it to Photos.
Where do X downloads go on Android?
To the Download folder in internal storage. Google Photos and most gallery apps show it as a Download album.
Why can't I find the file by the post's text?
Files are named after the account name and the post number, not the text. Search for the account name instead.
Did the download finish?
Check the browser's download list. A file that is still downloading or that failed is marked there; you can start it again from BirdGrab.
Where do photos, GIFs and MP3s go?
To the same Downloads folder as videos. On iPhone, photos can be moved to Photos with Share → Save Image.
Does BirdGrab keep a copy of my downloads?
No. Files come from X straight to your device, or pass through our server while you download, and are never stored.
